how much does it cost to take a surfboard to the Dominican?

I am going on a trip to the Dominican in February. I was wondering about how much would it cost to bring a single surfboard, even as my one check on bag with me. (my board is 6′2)

you didn’t say where you are traveling from or on what airline, but these days surfboards are $100+ each way. you really need to double check with the airline to make sure they would accept it as a checked bag (i doubt it, most have a length/width limit that might prevent it from being accepted as normal luggage).

I’ve traveled with my board and its usually been between $15 - $25 as the checked bag but will depend on the airline etc but some can go up to $100+ if not included as regular luggage. You should give them a call before you checkin just incase.

If you do take it on the plane, make sure its protected really really well or it WILL get damaged.
